So a friend of mine bought it to my attention yesterday that I hadn't posted for a month. Apologies. Do I really need to justify my lack of posting? Any spare time when I wasn't enjoying family time has been spent applying for jobs or working on my FS2014 commission. Also I only bought back a very capsule wardrobe with me- two pencil skirts, jeans, a jumper and a cardigan. Baring in mind I'm home for a month and I have nothing here I'm not really sure what happened...

I think I've mentioned on here my slight obsession with White Lies... At the beginning of the holidays I got the (very) early train down to Norwich from St Andrews to go see them at UEA with my younger sister Dorothy over at the Shoe Bird. As always they were flawless. Check them out, they're wonderful. Due to my limited wardrobe I wore my leopard print pencil skirt from River Island, my White Lies t-shirt and my Docs.

This is my New Years Dress. Due to a last minute decision we decided to change plans from London to home and so cooked a three-course meal for some friends. Naturally I needed a dress. So The Boy and I headed to TK Maxx and I got an early birthday present. It's a 1950s-style dress with a nude slip beneath a sheer navy lace. It's really beautiful and should get a lot of use over the next few months.

I'm also utterly broke at the moment due to some rent complications, so I took advantage of my student loan and did a bit of charity shop shopping. I picked up a gorgeous, navy cashmere jumper for pennies. It's a mens 48" and I don't think it has been worn. I'm a little in love. I also picked up some silk cushion covers for an absolute steal. Charity shops make me happy.

These two guys have been at the back of my mind for a while. The first was seen on South Street during the local high school lunch break. He was with a bunch of his friends, all styled to look like members of One Direction. However this guy stood out. From his shaved head to loose black knit to his DMs I loved his ability to transform his school uniform into a distinctly punk look.

I saw this guy in Peterborough Station on my way home. Similarly he had a shaved head and loose knit, however he had a blue, Celtic tattoo around his right ear and skin-tight bleached jeans. The knee-high DMs just made him look like he could have been a poster boy for the Punk Movement. Amongst all the clean-cut guys out there it is great to see that some are still sticking to a grittier personal style.

If anyone follows my Twitter/Facebook then you would know about my current love of 'My House in Umbria.' Maggie Smith's character wanders around in kimonos and palazzo pants with batwing eye-liner and a constantly filled gin and tonic. What more could you want?

I hope you all had a great Christmas break and have had a great start to 2k14!
